Ang Bakasyon

5th straight day na walang pasok and I am going out of my mind. Anybody who has sense would have used the time off doing something productive but I guess tinangay na rin ng baha ang lahat ng sense sa katawan ko. I barely even made it out of my room...

Since I spent all of my time surfing the internet, I was able to experience a lot of, uhm... things. First, Facebook. I haven't spent so much time on facebook than I did this past week. and so, weird observations and events kept on coming:

a) People like to get noticed on facebook. Kapag walang nagla-like sa status nila, sila mismo ang nagla-like. I don't know which is more sad... no one liking and commenting on your status or begging to get them.

b) A friend accidentally sent me a private message. I knew it wasn't for me kasi di ko alam yung pinagsasabi niya. And the weird thing is, his message made it seem like he was gay. If he is, I feel sorry for him. It must be real tough to hide and to wonder if his family and friends would accept him. I just wish he knew it doesn't matter to me. Should I tell him or wait for him to fess up?

c) It's not that smart to accept friend requests of aunts and uncles.

No choice.

How I Met Your Mother, The Walking Dead, New Girl, at Glee... I found a new series.

The Legend of Korra

This is the sequel to one of(if not only) my all-time favorite cartoon series, Avatar: The Legend of Aang. I was skeptical at first. Na-trauma na yata ako sa movie version ni M.NightShyamalan na The Last Airbender kaya ayokong panuorin tong next chapter but thankfully, it wasn't anywhere near as bad as the movie version of the Legend of Aang. The story revolves around the new avatar, Korra, who is in training to master her airbending skills to fulfill her destiny as the "ambassador" of balance and peace. This series is more adult-ish than its predecessor but it has enough moments that would really please fans of the original avatar. Mas maraming action scenes at mas may emphasis sa love story ng bagong avatar. All in all, while the legend of Aang is still superior in storyline, I think the Legend of Korra is a worthy sequel. Can't wait for next season.

Sa movies naman, I liked Conviction the most. It's a story about Betty Anne Waters' decades-long journey to free her wrongly-accused brother of murder.
Conviction (Hillary Swank and Sam Rockwell)

It was based on a true story. Hillary Swank's character had to put aside everything- her marriage, kids, work, just so that she can put herself through law school and find enough evidence to prove her brother's innocence. I don't know why but while watching the film, I can't stop comparing it to Erin Brockovich. Both movies are true to life, have the same mood and both characters were faced with terrible circumstances and were able to rise above those situations. While Erin Brockovich is better in story flow, Conviction had just as strong performances. Sam Rockwell is surprisingly good in this film and Hillary Swank once again proved that she is a top-caliber actress.

Back to normal na ulit. As much as I enjoyed the vacation, I can't wait to complain about being busy again. Be Contented. Be Happy. Be Safe.
